At the start of August 2022, I (JP) had just quit my job and started my venture as a freelance software engineer. I had been quite miserable from my previous job and was looking to find a fresh start. I had just gotten my very first client (my dad) building an app for his day care and my confidence was sky high! I had also just started working out again as I had recently gotten into my "year of longevity" mindset.
As I was about to workout one morning, I realized that I wanted to start a YouTube channel to document my freelancing career and hopefully make a name for myself in the tech scene. I had found a lot of value from all the engineers and creators that I had been interacting with in Twitter and 100Devs, and I wanted to give back to the same communities that had already provided so much for me and had forever changed my life for the better. I was so excited that I told my best friend (Mike) immediately right before I walked out the door to workout.
I was watching the Price Is Right while I was on the treadmill, and for some odd reason, seeing Drew Carey's beautiful face, along with all the contestants' excitement, made me realize that I wanted to share my newfound passion to create with my best friend. So, I asked him as soon as I got back to our apartment. He was 100% on board.
Then, I started asking myself, "Why should I stop there? Why not invite all the people that I want to be involved with this project and spend more time with them?" One by one, I started asking my closest friends and family if they'd like to be a part of this whole endeavor, and they have all decided to join me!
My main goal for this whole project is for us to be able to make each other laugh, cry, think, and feel from the things that we create. It is to nurture and cultivate the relationships that we have with each other by sharing what we are most passionate about and learn from each other's experiences. I am hoping that with this project that we all grow into our best selves and encourage us to stay connected with each other.
I want to create a community where we can be our most authentic selves, so don't be shy to say hi! Everyone in this group is pretty chill and outgoing, and we are always down with making new friends. We'd love to get you on board in this new adventure!
